I will always stand by classic country. That's white people's version of soul music right there. The glitzy mainstream country of the last 30ish years doesn't do it for me, but Nelson, Cash, Cline, Haggard, Jennings, Twitty, Parton etc. are timeless
Yep. I think a lot of people go through an "eww, Dad music phase," I know I did. But eventually you return to it and recognize the quality.
Yeah, the only people who seem to hate on Segar are people who won't allow themselves to like their Dad's music because it's their Dad's music.
Dammed commies, that's who.
This suit burns better.
Weirdly, I can't recall the exact moment I heard he was killed, but I remember that day of and the days afterward. I was in high school when it happened, and there were few figures I can think of that were universally beloved across generational lines as Phil Hartman. His death hit kids and parents alike. What I…
Man, Roger Ebert was a true loss. He was one of the most erudite-but-approachable voice seen we had in film criticism. He was at more than "thumbs up/down."
Goddammit, it's been 20 years and Phil's death still gets to me. There are few celebrity deaths that cut me as deep. Every time I see footage of him or hear him on The Simpsons, inside I go a little rubbery.
Cute, but has it occurred to you that people might want to make fun of someone for the simple fact that their schtick is so out-there as to engender laughter and bemusement at the very fact that people believe it? Of course you don't, because you've already bought into the simplistic, black-and-white,…
That one too.
You, sir, get an upvote for that reference.
Hell yes. Yellow Diamond has my vote in 2020.
Baby diver! You've been down too long with a wet didee… Oh what's becoming of meeeeee!
*Raises clenched fists*
The plan was to kill as many women as he could, starting with a specific sorority. But when the rubber met the road, it became "Fuck it, shoot and run over anyone." This happened to included some girls from another sorority, but it also included a number of random people of both sexes. Only six fatalities (his three…

Are you thinking of Elliot Rodger in Santa Barbara? If so, he actually didn't kill the girls in question (though he did want to attack a specific sorority). He killed his roommates and and some passers by (which didn't include so girls who were members of a sorority, but I think it was just happenstance at that point).
YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS!
This one hits hard. Soundgarden (and all grunge, really) were seminal for me growing up. Those were the bands that got me interested in music and set me on the course of music geekery. Damn… Sleep well, Chris.
