"For the most part, citizens of richer countries spend a lower percentage of their budget on food eaten at home — logical, considering that more money means more discretionary income. But there are outliers here, too — Russians spends a full 6.5% more than Indians despite their country's economy ostensibly being much

Your company is not need-based, though. They have a vested interest in making sure nobody is running the company or dealing with customers or whatever while high out of their goddamn minds.

>>3. Set up a corporate veil. If you are on your own set up an S Corp. (in the US) it is easy, free, and it PROTECTS you. It means more paperwork, but it is worth it.

Why doesn't Lifehacker/io9/Jezebel/Gawker/etc have a dating service? I would rather meet many of the commenters here than the people I meet on dating sites.

Agreed. Which is why I am willing to go to your house and eat your dog.

Well, we've been training and selectively breeding dogs to be our animal helpers for thousands of years. We've been selectively breeding cows to provide food and leather. It's different.

When I was in college I worked at a large chain seafood restaurant that recently was sold. They have excellent biscuits. The name is a color and a crustacean.

This is the dumbest idea since the Dine 'n Dash Cafe opened up a few years ago.

Once, the KKK stopped the Church for protesting a soldier's funeral, because we live in a weird fucking country.

True story: I worked at a pub where the owner came up with the idea to build a hamster race track. In the pub. Seriously. His idea would be that parents and children would come in with the hamster balls, set them on the track, and say (his words, not mine):

I had a pet goat named Florence. We lived in town and so our neighbors thought we were crazy. She would stand on neighbors cars and bray or whatever young goats do. The car damage is why we had to give her to a farm (i visited her there—she really did move to a nice farm).

I've been following Frostie on CO and the reason they left his hooves to drag on the ground is that he may regain use of them and the stimulation may help that happen. It doesn't hurt him, either.

Sometimes people act like I'm a fanatic for never, ever giving any of my pets anything made in China, but this shit happens way too often. I do not myself ingest or use products from that region (wherever possible) so I wouldn't give it to them either.

Another tax-time tip: Use a separate bank account for business-related expenses. My bank offers free checking, so there's no extra cost to the second account. Make sure all income is deposited to that account, and all business expenses go out of that account.
