I think in the future, if we ever open the SpaceX books we’re going to find that a lot of it is propped up with government backing, which means it really isn’t a private company in the purest sense. That’s just my read on it.

“Tee Ay Arr Arr...Ific, Terrific! Many people are saying I’m the best at Words!”

Lack of clarity is a kind of clarity!

Roll that crap back on your spool, cowboy.

If anyone in the White House press corps had any self respect, they would ask him to spell tariff.

I think folks have yet to realize that this is a full-flung venture/vulture capital takeover of the United States.

It’s worth reading the linked articles to get more context to this story.

Wow, you sure were right. And they politicized it at lightning speed, too.

Yep. And I know it’s early, but from listening to the ATC recordings it really does sound like the helicopter fucked up and failed to pass behind the plane as instructed by ATC. I didn’t catch any error by ATC, especially since at that location they’re probably under fairly intense pressure not to stop military

When "safety" becomes a for-profit business, we all suffer.

Not to them. They’re all happily profiting off it, thanks to lobbyists and very generous contributions from these entities, to ensure things stay “Business as Usual”.

The United States’ unwillingness to aggressively enforce anti-trust laws is, in my opinion, the absolute worst economic mistake this politicians from both sides have made, possibly in the history of the country.

Calling Luigi!

MOVE FAST AND BREAK THINGS!!!

Yes, please rush these planes out without any quality control checks.

wait, wait. Hear me out.
Let’s say we let them rush the planes with the help of Musk. What’s the worst that can happen? Since we know what is Boeing quality control these days....

Exactly.

Collatoral personnel damange is a problem, but the thought of Trump and Musk flying together on a hastily assembled aircraft.... I mean, I see some upside potential.

They likely mean post-qualifying inspection. There are no mid-race inspections.

I think the short and easy answer would be worldwide safety compliance.  Europe has added pedestrian safety laws that dictate the height and angle of hoods among other things.  Having a sharp piece sticking through the hood probably didn’t do great in pedestrian crash testing.
