Yea, bad list indeed. The ioniq N is a cool car but aren't hot hatches supposed to be affordable?

Concept cars and one-offs don’t belong on this list at the expense of the WRX and Peugeot 206 (or 306 even). Yes, they were “cool” but nobody could even buy them. The entire point of a hot hatch is that it is somewhat attainable for the average person.

This list is bad, and it should feel bad.

First, the Mini is not a hatchback. Second, once you move the engine into the cargo space, it’s no longer really a hatchback. Not functionally, anyway.

Cars that should have been on the list, but weren’t: Mk. 1 Golf GTI, the Peugeot 205 GTI, the 4th generation Civic SiR, and the

Why would I buy this? I want people to know I’m a douchebag asshole on first sight of my electric truck. I don’t want them to have to guess. Cybertruck is the only guarantee.

Rented one from Hertz about a month ago (it was the only EV they had), and a few days after returning it, I realized I left something in the frunk. When I went back to the rental location, they sent me to their resale lot as that’s where the truck was located. It had less than 9k on it.

Crack Pipe.

ah c’mon

Yeah. When almost every EV is around $70-80k, you’ve already pretty much exhausted the upper level of the “mass” market. And most EV makers are still losing money on every EV sold.

yep, drive an M5 from 20 years ago and a new one. Or a basic 3 series from 20 years ago and now. Yes car improved in a lot of aspects but definitely not in driver engagement and how they make you feel behind the wheels. I think this was his main point.

Yeah, “big discount” in the title had me thinking in the $40k range at most. $63+k discounted is still too much.

Modern cars are, for the most part, fantastic. Plus, you don’t have to worry about dying if you get into a minor car accident, and they’re – for the most part – better for the environment.

More than 4 TONS:

I agree in a way.
Look how many cars on the market have the exact same ZF 8spd transmission.
Most car companies don’t even bother trying to make their own transmissions.
They farm it out, and try to program their own characteristics.
No, they all feel and act the same.
Distilled down to a commodity.

Absolutely not.

$70-80k... and they wonder why nobody is buying them?

He’s right though. As cars become more like appliances, less and less soulful cars will exist.

Counterpoint: How often do cops issue tickets for reckless driving in a low speed rear ending? And on private property? I’ve been rear ended at a stop sign. No ticket issued. One time I was hit in a parking lot I managed to flag a cop. He did nothing because it wasn’t on the street.

Oh yeah man, I’m constantly wading through articles about how the state should nationalize everything and anarchism should reign. Dolt.

Thankfully, only one person was injured in the slow-motion disaster that caused people to jog for their lives.

Went down like Neymar after a small foul.
