Guns are the second-leading cause of death of children and teens in the United States, after motor vehicle crashes. In 2016, the most recent year for which data are available, they killed nearly 3150 people aged 1 to 19, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.

I can guarantee you that 99% of them picture a specific type of person breaking in when they do that.

I read awhile back that scams are often fairly obvious, to filter out subjects who would realise they’re being swindled.

I’m struck by the similarities between the spin put on gun violence and that put on rape culture. The right always leans on this bogeyman stranger intending to do harm to you and your family rather than the inconvenient truth that violence is more often perpetrated by the devils we know.

A victim of what? A tyrannical government that asks you to wear a mask to avoid killing others? Tyrannical health experts wo don’t think gathering to pay homage to an imaginary being is worth literally killing people for? Tyrannical baristas that won’t give you a coffee cup with a Christmas tree on it? Tyrannical media…

They’re also rich, so could easily rent a place for as long as is necessary even if they sold their one and only house. They aren’t quite like the last time I changed apartments and one lease ended on the 31st while the other didn’t start until the 5th and ended up crashing with some very kind but very unenthused…

I’m not into the crunch, or the little bits of shell that don’t seem to go down when you swallow. However, I have had baked goods made with cricket flour and they were perfectly fine. I think that’s the way to eat insects.

I’ve never done grasshoppers, but I had crickets once. They were good taste-wise because the dish came with a delicious sauce, but it was really difficult to get over the mental hurdle when I saw all those bristly legs.

Yeah...I don’t eat crawfish, either.
