This man could monologe like no other. Yeah I wasn't expecting The Wind that Shakes the Barley, but the fact its never mentioned before or after is rather jarring as its very clearly expecting the watcher to have prior knowledge.  Which is both A not good for non British viewes, and if you do know stuff, your gonna be rather unhappy.
