Probably because it’s faster to move hundreds of people quickly through an airlock corridor, than beam 8 at a time with belongings, and the safety checks for every beam out, etc. since Control was already on the way.

Because they’re being consistent with established technological limitations? “Beam hundreds of people anywhere from anywhere without having to stand on a pad” didn’t become a thing till TNG. It’s the future version of an inflatable slide in the airliner door; it was clever.

Possibly it’s both her and her mother; just because her mother used the suit in this instance doesn’t mean Michael can’t use it on another.

Man the story is coo-coo bananas. I love it. This episode was PACKED but I think it ‘trimmed the fat’ in a way that’s going to make for a cleaner exit. Shame they couldn’t have spread it out a bit though.

No, any powered person usually. That’s how she got her most iconic power set in fact. Stealing Carol’s.

Yup, a thousand years in the future too.

Wait.

Lashana Lynch really was the MVP of Captain Marvel — she brought so much to the role, you feel the sadness rolling off of her as she talked to Carol. I hope we see more of her in the next film, even though I really want to see grown up Monica, too.

I fucking loved this film, I didn’t look at my watch once! I saw a ton of haters on YouTube talking about it, but the film was an excellent origin and continuation story. I’ll be the first to admit, that when they Stan Lee’d the opening logo and the dedication, it brought a tear to me eye!

I am interested to see where it goes....it feels like a very TOS setup...

Or the Ba-uhl is the post-puberty Kelpians. They shed their dangly bits and become warriors or whatever.

My eyes don’t roll hard enough for your comment.

Perhaps for the countless caregivers out there feeling lonely, isolated, hopeless and destroyed and not knowing how to put in some self-care while they’re taking care of their loved one. I’m sure he knew there would be backlash, but this is an important discussion to have, especially with our aging population.

This!!! I really think he and other Kelpians just undergo a change that takes them from fearful prey to more aggressive predators. The older more aggressive faction learned long ago that they need to separate themselves from the timid younger population. The great balance or whatever they call their religion is

I will bet you my best button that his race IS space faring. Saru is now Ba’al... probably

Anyone else think that what happened to Saru is totally natural? The culling by the Ba’al just separates out the more aggressive older members of society from the fearful younger members.

Yeah, I kept scrolling down and came across that beautiful nugget. Kinda cool and makes one think. But now I’m wondering if that just makes them, kinda d**ks. Imagine an adult terran going up to a kid and saying “Hey, your voice just cracked, time to die. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.” :/

Someone else posited this about Saru’s people: what if the predators on their home planet are actually Saru’s species once they’ve lost their fear? Totally blew my mind, man.
