Taking over and redirecting consumption are 2 different things

I can respect Cardi’s mind and her work ethic, be interested to hear her political views, love to chat with her about FDR’s New Deal’s impact on world politics, surmise with her on the impact Elenor had on his personal politics and STILL be pissed as fuck at her for her anti-trans statements.

I found the editing of the episode disjointed.  It did not come together well.  It appeared three plots were shoehorned into one episode.  I did not like the disjointed nature of the episode and felt it just didn’t mesh well.  Otherwise, Discovery has been doing well this season.

I love the Klingon Empire drama, personally.

Loved this episode, the klingons look badass and they trying to make the Aliens look more alien. Interesting to see where they go with it.

So the baby grows up to be the Albino from DS 9

You know what nobody gives a shit about?

Kind of a meh episode, but hopefully it has tied off some hanging thread plots (mostly L’Rell and the Klingons) for a while and they can focus entirely on with the red bursts/Spock storyline.

Hey guys, have you actually heard that the Orville is ACTUALLY the best Trek show on tv right now???

The Visitor, though. Is is just a beautiful story. Oh, and if you haven’t watched the Short Trek Calypso, is the same high watermark of Star Trek storytelling.

Seriously. Just once, JUST ONCE, I’d love to have a Discovery thread on the Internet where nobody mentions The Orville.

As for the Internet, the people who like to jump into every comment section and talk about The Orville can go hang out in the same dumpster as the people who think they’re being edgy by calling it STD.

Please stop telling us about The Orville; I think almost every Discovery article or review already has a post praising this show on it already. Trust me, everyone knows about it already and the constant reminders of its existence have long since gotten redundant. By now the only people who haven’t checked it out are

I adored this episode - I’m so glad Discovery is back. Pike is quickly jumping up to be one of my favorite captains, just like Prime Georgiou did.

I’m just going to throw this out there...you know the show runners from S1 are gone, right? They were fired, and had nothing to do with S2.

I mean, the point of that scene and some of the others in the hour was to CORRECT that problem you realize?

I liked more of this episode than I disliked, so that was a big plus for me in terms of this series.

As someone who did not like S1 at all. Last night was like a breath of fresh air, and hit ALL my buttons. Cannot wait to see what’s ahead!

Yes, but that was in the Kelvin timeline. In the backstory to the 2009 film - and this was explained onscreen - Nero came back in time because of the destruction of Romulus in the Prime timeline, which is the one Picard is in. Vulcan’s fine in that timeline. So all this is accurate.

It makes sense though. Picard was always a negotiator/ambassador. Those were his strengths, and after the mind meld and his history with Spock and his father.... And they are not saying thats what he is currently dong, just that during the Romulus destruction.
