Circumcision (regardless of gender) is a ridiculous, inhumane, barbaric practice that should be relegated to the dustbin of history, but I do agree that it’s about as far as possible from being the most pressing issue of the 2020 campaign.

I’m definitely not saying it’s comparable to female genital mutilation. I’m just saying it’s 2019 and we have acceptable hygiene practices. No need to be non-consensually mutilating anyone’s genitals.

There’s no reason it shouldn’t be discussed. Performing cosmetic surgery on a child’s genitals for any reason is part of the whole “it’s my child I can do what I want” mindset that leads us to anti-vax bullshittery and children dying because parents want to go the herbal route instead of taking them to the doctor.
