“I have no idea who this guy is.”
“I have no idea who this guy is.”
Wtf are you talking about? You know he has a drinking problem, do you?? You require a mea culpa for alcoholism, do you?? Entertaining your dumb assumption about him having a drinking problem, what then? He’s obligated to unload it otherwise his apology is insincere?? He doesn’t have to say a fucking thing about it if…
So every drunk who ever got arrested and has been told to take a timeout by their employer due to the public nature of his job has a drinking problem? Sure thing, Mr. armchair psychologist!
Thanks for sharing that.
I didn’t mean to come off too strident.
You put it better than I could.
Late stage alcoholics drink alone, so no one will interfere with their drinking. Their world gets smaller and smaller.
They also get arrested and get in trouble at work - all due to alcohol.
Thank you for maintaining a strong voice in spite of the star disparity in this thread. (Not that I take you for someone who would let a large Kinja star disparity move you off your point in the first place. But lots of people would.)
I’m more interested to see if he stops abusing alcohol. This is a rock-bottom moment for pretty much anyone, so hopefully he’s getting some help.
I’m of the opinion that people in the public eye don’t deserve to have their reputation sullied by people who have never heard of them before, know nothing about them, and are armchair therapists diagnosing addiction when they have no clue what or whom they are talking about.
Are you really of the opinion that it matters what people type into the comment section of a sports blog?
It’s just takes.
Mostly from bored people at work.
I think Ryen has greater problems than anything we say about him.
they posted a short video of him speaking to you directly that you couldn’t bother watching before coming out and accusing this guy of feigning sincerity and of being an outright alcoholic.
Methinks the people taking such umbrage with your take doth protest too much. Perhaps it hits a little close to home for some? Frankly the number of people excusing and trying to normalize his behavior is more indicative of their own proclivities than anything it says about your take.
Your being pretty irresponsible here, Sean. “I have no idea who this guy is, but where’s the awareness?”, was your exact quote and now your saying he has a history of alcoholism? You back this by posting a link another blogger posted to this thread. The article btw is about feud he had with another radio personality…
Hey Dr. Phil, how can you know “guys like him”, when you “barely know who this guys is”?
sorry for all the shit you’re getting in this thread.
I didn’t know the background. So this dude is a just an alcoholic.
Ah, I see. It’s the point and area where it really becomes a problem. Thanks, and sorry for all the shit you’re getting in this thread.
How do you know he’s got some distance from where he needs to be?
Late stage alcoholics drink alone
“You think B&E is standard drunk behaviour?”
but you’re criticizing him for what you assume he’s not doing even though you have no idea what he is or isn’t doing.
