This is true for both South Asian men and East Asian men and it's completely ridiculous and demeaning.

If that pop culture figure was a demeaning one, that was used to bully them, then yes.

I'm First-Gen Indian American, and Azaria as Apu never upset me either, but I talked to a few second gen folks who grew up being bullied because of their race, and made fun of - and a lot of the times, Apu was the only Indian pop culture figure they knew, so obviously it would be brought into the teasing. I can see

Kylo Ren's eye twitching in angst is probably the best thing about the sketch.

I don't like it when people complain about Raj's accent because it IS a legit Indian accent, or more specifically, a posh Delhi accent. But the show is pretty ignorant and plays to stereotypes a lot. Pretty much : "omg those crazy hindus amirite?"
Some random ass cultural "traditions" are cooked up and played for

Del Toro, Oscar Isaac for Ex-Machina

Liev was much better IMO.

Sad that Del Toro and Blunt didn't get any noms :(

Oscar Isaac for Ex-Machina also.

NOOO WHAT'S HAPPENING

ANJELICA HUSTON what a glorious queen

POOR, SWEET COLTON. Seriously, that actor was so sweet faced and Colton looked so devastated when Josh let him leave that I was straight up crying.

I actually feel the opposite. I have empathy for all characters, of course, but my love for Maura has gone way down. She's just SUCH a shitty parent. Shelly too. I do have a deep dislike for Ali, but Josh and Sarah are great. Josh may be entitled, but he is deeply sympathetic IMO. Maybe if his parents took care of him

Loved this episode, but I miss Rabbi Raquel. Kathryn Hahn is an angel.

In the pilot, she gets a call from rehab saying Sherlock escaped, so I'm sure they know who she is.

I thought I clicked on a Transparent review page by mistake and stumbled on one of my various comments there calling her a "national treasure", "a ray of sunshine" and "a bundle of warmth and happiness"

Kathryn Hahn is a ray of sunshine, for real.

I think it could be looked at it two ways. It SHOULD be, in fact. We see that Maura is clearly not comfortable entering into a sexual relationship with Shelly, and the way they got there is clear emotional manipulation from Shelly's side.

This was legit one of the best TV episodes I've ever seen. The direction, the story, the acting…the Robert Altman-esque acting and dialogue…just so fucking sublime. And for reasons even I don't understand, Ali standing alone at the end of the episode and we see the lady from the flashback sitting beside her made me
