This reminds me, I have a grandmother who loudly boos & heckles the bride & groom at all the important parts during every nupital ceremony in our family - everyone has to invite her because she's super wealthy and without any biological heirs.

I really appreciate the subtlety Hannah Simone brings to Cece. I think a lot of actors would've done it differently, but she shows a lot of restraint and becomes funnier with every episode or every rewatch.

Yeah, but also note that they did it with Brad Pitt & Michael Fassbender with the 12 Years A Slave posters in Italy, so it's not exclusively an Asian thing, it's a racist marketing thing.

That's pretty much bullshit. They said they made The Ancient One Celtic, then why the hell is the setting in Nepal, and why is she wearing Eastern garb? They could've hired an Asian actor, since they already changed the location, and nobody would've cared. They CHOSE to whitewash the role. It's so annoying - because

I don't get why people are so mad at you. I CANNOT believe people are actually going for the whole "shut up and just be grateful" route. Ugh.

Yeah. I mean, he thinks the landing on the moon was faked. "THE SHADOWS ARE OFF JESS"

Sam and Jess have such great chemistry. It doesn't show so much right now, but the first time around in S2 in the Halloween episode and for a few episodes after that, I really enjoyed them together.

Weirdly, I love those jokes. My favorite was when he called wi-fi "wiffi".

Nehru actually wrote really gripping books, so this made me laugh even more.

Exactly. Even the minor characters have had more inner life portrayed on screen than the major villains of the show's two-season run, who all happen to be Asian. There's a vagueness in their characterisation of The Hand that leaves us to fill in the gaps or just assume that it's a sort of "quality" that makes them

Slumdog Millionaire sucked but he was the best part of it IMO, aside from the music. I still can't get over the fact that they put in that whole bit about Benjamin Franklin and having a blind beggar recognise American Dollars just by touching them. That's not even the Indian currency, you idiots!

Nah, I was replying to the dude who specifically brought up that one kill. Which is why I mentioned in the brackets that I actually had no problems with Matt breaking the no-kill policy with Nobu! It was self defence IMO.

Read pal, attack is right there and so is unimportant or not important. And I don't have time to dig up and read through all your comments. But handwringing was there too.

Also, I'm done replying to you. You ignore the parts of my comments that are inconvenient for you & it's safe to say I don't find any of yours particularly illuminating.

" Complaining about the Hand of all fucking things when there are East Asian superheroes that could be showing up but aren't? Focusing on the MCU like it is some kind of lodestone for racial progress in America when an adaption of a groundbreaking anime just cast a white woman as the lead?"

Are you kidding me? Does racism need to have malevolent intent? The writers might not have said "Hey let's sit down and make this season about Yellow Peril" but it turned out like that. It's upto the showrunners to create some balance in a show, to even out the reveals and create timely character arcs which they did

Yeah, the Asian ones didn't even get to have any emotions other than cold ruthlessness, whereas the other ones got to have some connection and emotional beats.

No, we're not talking about the character Matt. *sigh* We're talking about the show and the choices the showrunners made.

Oh, well then. That kinda helps my case.

I quoted you because you literally said those things. You said my "handwringing" about my opinions on The Hand were unimportant because there were more important things for me to worry about. ON a review page of Daredevil. Not being dishonest, and I really have no interest in continuing this conversation with you,
