Mp3 was the downfall of genuinely talented engineers. Most of the audiophile shit these days is the blind leading the blind.

I did my first 2 years at a CC. I got an dual AS in EET and CS for 6k total. I then went on to get a BS in Software Engineering, which cost an additional 30k. I saved about 25k and got the same educational value. Also, I had small classes and more attentive instructors for the “101" stuff you’d have 200 students and a

This is just sad, and so unnecessary. Students always have access to community colleges, which are real institutes of higher learning, and are a wonderful bargain for students. If you’re thinking about signing up at a for-profit, check out your local community college first.

Yeah, I was thinking there was going to be some awful inappropriate sexual behavior from higher-ups. Some of this actually sounds like a lot of fun. I want to do Karaoke at midnight!

LOL I re-read that like 3 times. We work long hours, then went on the describe an 8 hour shift. After which you had enough energy to get totally shit faced and dance to terrible music for another 3 hours.

Very tame. She describes… a job. Not a workplace dripping with insanity. I read the Guardian article as well, and it mostly points out that Gizmodo stories are inaccurate, and rattles of some bad things that happened. Again, nothing you don’t hear about in most workplaces.

Sounds like a whiner. Try working a minimum wage job where you have to pull 12-14 hours shifts, or work 7 days a week. Health insurance/401 k/ pension?

You don’t “find” love.

You don’t “fall” in love.

You don’t “seek” love.

Love kidnaps you. Keeps you hostage against your will. Love is sabotage. Love is being blindsided, t-boned, you barely escape, then your car explodes, then a semi comes careening at you and you fall off a cliff and then when your body lies mangled

No shit, that sounds better than pretty much any job I have ever had. You got drunk after work, went dancing and bowling and karaoke? Not exactly something you call OSHA over.

Was this someone’s first job? I mean, frankly, I would love to dance at my first job. Frozen vodka? You know how fast you would get fired from 95% of all jobs if you did that?

Yeah, her very long shift was 8 hours - so a normal work day, right. Boo fucking hoo. Sorry bitches, I deal will worse than this shit daily and probably paid a quarter of what these trending twats are

Pretty much that is the standard contractor/freelancer experience these days with most of these companies. They don’t want to pay benefits or give you time of, but the pay is at or below just a normal worker’s pay, and you have no job security.

That was way more tame than I expected it to be.
