And how many are there about her? And how many major publications are talking, right now about his?

Why don’t we talk about men’s speaking habits? Why do we talk so much about women’s?

He isn’t - but we don’t talk about him. Why?

And Bernie is a yeller! And a pointer, and a frowner. He looks like an angry professor whose class all failed an exam. But he’s a man, so that’s ok I guess.

Think about the fact that we all have hidden bias and consider whether we REALLY hold men and women to the same standards. We don’t. I am a woman and I still have anti-woman bias. I accept that and it helps me look out for it.

What do you think about Bernie’s style? Have you even thought about it? Do we have multiple mainstream articles regularly suggesting it’s a flaw, or that it distracts from his message? No. And he is a yeller, a pointer, and he rarely smiles. He hunches over like a golem. And I love the man - but it’s true.

You can be anti-Clinton and not be a misogynist, but it’s disingenuous to ignore that just as a lot of people just didn’t like or connect to Obama due to implicit racial bias, a lot of people don’t like women in leadership positions. I disagree with many of Clinton’s policies myself, but am not bothered by her

Everyone keeps bringing Warren up as a better option, but she was a miserable campaigner during her senate race. She was extremely well-financed and was virtually tied with Scott Brown for a long time leading up to the election. She was very popular before she was the Dem nominee in that race and has been popular as a

She’s not a poor public speaker. Short of changing her voice, what do you want? I’m sorry she doesn’t have that chumsy voice guys like George W. Bush have.

It’s astounding that after 40 years of working in the public sector for the rights of children, people with disabilities, women and minorities, Clinton STILL doesn’t get any credit, and any achievements she has are dismissed as her husband’s doing.

Fwiw, Michelle Obama isn’t a politician, she’s a politician’s wife. (In response to that other commenter.) You know I’m a fan girl so this is an observation, not a criticism. Despite her education, she has been very careful to play a traditional First Lady’s role, unlike Hillary with Bill.

Because we talk about her in a way we don’t talk about Trump or Bernie. They are both loud and angry and shrill but you rarely see those words used to describe them. Why?

Now you’re just flying off the rails away from what we’re talking about, which is whether her oratory skills are sufficient, and where criticisms of her speech go from being legitimate to being sexist. 10 years of planning can’t change the fact that she doesn’t have the same natural speaking ability as people like her

I definitely think Sullivan fell into the trap of double standards when it comes to men and women speaking.
