While I try to keep the fire in my wood stove hot and back from the glass, some soot is bound to happen. I have found that wood ash is also very useful for cleaning the glass doors of my wood stove. It can be used as a great substitute for expensive cleaners.

QR codes are silly. I've tested my friends and almost everyone can open up a web browser and type in an address faster than they can open up an app to scan the QR code to go to the same site.

Since a bar of soap has less moisture (than a potato), a bar of soap may be a little more safe.

I used to get calls from a particular company. @carlsantos: Depending upon the circuitry in the strip, the power strip may use a very small amount of electricity even when it is switched off.

I too love command lines - I spend a lot of my day on *nix systems and almost always run a little script that will put new entries in select log files on my console. Depending upon the box, it looks something like:

@Soli: Reply to All can be an effective tool - but only when used appropriately. All too often, I get emails (where someone hit reply to all) that really don't have anything to do with me. Unfortunately, I only discover this after reading it (and waisting time).

I'm looking to get a new phone and considering an Android based phone. Has LH done an article recently about which Android phones offer which features?
