No, that would be silly. I grab all the game boxes and throw them on the ground and stomp on them while disgusted Gamestop employees call the police.

Handhelds are cool and all, but I want to sit down and get immersed in an epic game in front of my TV. I want to blink and realize I've been playing for the last 4 or 5 hours. Sneaking a Pokemon battle in between other things I'm doing in life is not how I want to experience a role-playing game.

I bet you're fun at parties.

Agreed. I'm pretty shocked that people aren't tired of pressing plastic buttons and making pixels change color on a screen.

Ok. Now replace shooters with "classic Final Fantasy style turn-based games with overworld maps".

When looking at recent games (PS2 and later) that are either, a) like Final Fantasy IX, or b) like Final Fantasy Tactics, one group is pretty clearly larger than the other.

I am! And there's also the upcoming South Park game, but I'm pretty much over the whole parody thing that they have going on. I'm up for another "serious" adventure in that style.

Compared to non-tactical turn-based RPGs, yes, there has been a recent surge of tactical RPGs.

You know what, you're right. This isn't the proper forum for discussing my disappointment regarding, more the lack of classic turn-based RPGs than the resurgence of tactical ones.

Starving? I was being a bit of a jerk, but you're being a bit hyperbolic. SRPGs are doing more than fine right now. Especially when they're all you can find when looking for upcoming turn-based RPGs.

They're closer to this than to strategy RPGs, that's true. But they're not turn-based in the sort of classic Final Fantasy sense of the term. I think you'd be hard pressed to call the FFXIIIs turn-based at all. the biggest difference being that the XIIIs are all about swapping character roles on the fly, where as

It's just the feeling I get every time I try to look up a nice turn-based RPG for a system that I may have overlooked. It's every time someone announces a new turn-based RPG. Shooters are over done too. But, "two wrongs" and all that.

Well, you're not bucking the trend by making a strategy tactics-style RPG, that's all I'm saying.

Oh. Yay. Another SRPG.

I'm not sure, but as someone who's going PS4 next gen I hope it's better than this. The PS3 was amazing in that department, so I hope Sony keeps it up.

I know I'll be called out as picky but I don't care. Those three boxes on the right are larger than every other UI element on the starting screen except the one in the middle.

Twitch? YouTube?

Obligatory:

An apartment probably. Anything to move out of the same cheap garage everyone else has that is one block from a police station.

"XBox, Next episode."
