I have this in my E61 and use it 9 out of 10 times. Pretty cool to that the crgo cver automatically “pops up” to allow access as well. So easy and it doesn’t put wear and tear on the electric rear hatch.

For daily duties I have a 2008 535xi wagon for all dad duties. Since it has the N54 in it, power is pretty easy to come by. A tune, intake, intercooler and a set of downpipes and it is incredibly quick being in 400hp territory.

I definitely think I’m in a niche vehicle as the prices are the same if not much higher in the UK for a 2001 BMW M5. I’m sure the 400hp, 4.9L, CO2 factory S62 V8 isn’t looked on too favorably for taxes, insurance, gas/petrol, etc. That is even before being supercharged as mine is which probably doesn’t help in

Im going to echo this as well. Both the 959 and 918 showcased and brought out some of the “new age” technology that many other cars have followed suit or will be soon. Both helped to push and introduce new tech that we are seeing now more and more across cars in all different classes.

Not surprised but what is surprising is the MPG of the newer gen. big GM SUV’s. Our ‘17 6.2l Denali got over 25mpg on the highway at 75mph between Charleston, SC and Atlanta. I flirt with nearly 30 if I’m careful when around 55 mph. I verified at a pump fill up as well.

First Gen Touareg V8's were incredibly capable and could do nearly anything on and off road asked of them.

Good ‘ol Section-179. Not bad when you can write-off the full purchase price on your business’ taxes. That $100k truck just became $65k in a 35% tax bracket and I’m sure even more can be written off. “Hummer Tax”

100% agree. I’ve done two trips in the past two years to England and Italy, Switzerland and Germany where I had a rental and they were easily the best trips I’ve had! Plus I love turbo diesel manuals now more than ever!

Sad to hear. I lost a very good friend (Wes Van Dorn) not too long ago in a MH-53E incident. This likely is old news to those who have been here a while, and this incident being a collision (?) may not necessarily be related to issues with these aircraft, but they have a pretty bad record...
