@grysl: how does this underscore that "life on Earth is not a special, magical thing." How does life in Mono Lake, California point to evidence of life anywhere else in the universe?

Very cool.

@LTA: That used to be almost worth it -sometimes toner costs more than the printer. But now I've heard that printer companies are no longer packaging a full set of cartridges with a new printer, but rather just "starter" cartridges.

@dataPOG: Why, so it doesn't get stolen by the reverse peephole thieves, of course.

At those speeds, you'll hit your bandwidth cap in no time!

@dataPOG: Who leaves wallets or computers in a hotel room when they're not there? I don't even trust the room safes.

@lonewolf325: that's why I always throw the deadbolt and the flip lock.

I don't know. it's kind of creepy, but if someone goes to that much trouble to watch my magnificent lovemaking skillz, then let them.

@WillieG: Did whatsisname get at y'all yestaday?

My real name is far too common. I have never found myself in a google search.

@Anrkist: And you're not dead either.

@ctxppc: couldn't you bend down, place one hand perpendicular to the direction your foot is facing (it won't be exact, but I'd try to shoot for over 90 degrees), then swivel your body to that direction? That should be allowed, since you're still blindfolded.

@anderlan: I don't know because the video makes no attempt to address this theory. It doesn't appear anyone tried to compensate for anything.

I'd bet the farm that they have not found any evidence at all of 'life'. They always oversell these announcements to try to get maximum possible coverage. The announcement will be something along the lines of 'there's lot's of carbon here', or other elements that could support life.

Maybe you can't walk in a straight line, but can you sort of stagger in the right direction?

@whmr: The first time I ever saw a deep fried candy bar was in Scotland.

Now playing

I've never heard of Trainz, but I've definitely heard of Beamz.

This made my day. Non-3d Avatar is unwatchable garbage. Seriously, it is so bad. As I said at the time, this is the single worst movie I have ever recommended to others-in the theater, in 3d. In any other form, it is not worth the film (or whatever other media) it's printed on.
