I just watched the pilot after having been reminded of it enough times thanks to this article and a link to amazon who gave it out for free. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot aside John Requa and Glenn Ficara seem to have mastered the modern romcomdram twist. I wonder if they'll bring it to Disney's Jungle Cruise.

The thing about Charlie and The Chocolate Factory is that, though the special f/x are better, the director and actor are capable, it hews so close to the original that it doesn't gain enough. The original is a concept that could only be good enough in its time.
