Surprised there are people who actually enjoy this show considering what a flaming pile it is. After 2 decades of LOTR and GOTs guiding the way for quality fantasy adaptations, they made Witcher in the vein of Xena Warrior Princess with gore and boobs (this isn’t a compliment).

I think the story is also that he thinks he made his point about not skipping out on something legally mandated and then telling the person in charge of punishment that you expect to get away with a slap on the wrist. A lot of this story seems to come down to the defendant being an absurdly ideal “example” case.

It’s a bullshit scenario from start to finish, but the kid did actually just totally blow off jury duty. He woke up two hours late, Googled what would happen to him for not showing up, couldn’t find anything, said fuck it and went to his job without contacting the court at all. Three weeks later the cops showed up…

He’s an adult that committed a crime.

It’s literally illegal to not show up for jury duty though. Jurors are absolutely necessary to keep our legal system working correctly. You do not oversleep for jury duty or shit like this happens.

He was assigned a case and date and a time. If every juror blew it off like he did the court would be sitting there with a plaintiff and a defendant and no potential for any judgement. He didn’t have to accept being on a jury, just tell the judge he hates the justice system and home he goes. And not to even call is…

Uh, a man on PCP can actually be very dangerous. When you’re on PCP, you tend to ignore pain and lose any sense of reason or logic. People seem to fixate on the “unarmed” part but seem to forget to that it’s entirely possible to kill people with your bare hands, especially if you’re considerably stronger than they are.
