Each of these problems exist within normal taxis. They aren’t typically equipped for handicapped people, almost always double park, and while there is no algorithm they use to stay out of bad neighborhoods, they simply know where to go and where to avoid.

I’ve done extensive work with several major transit systems (although not with the MTA). This is par for the course and the number of needless positions filled by lazy, entitled assholes in nearly every department is stunning. The public doesn’t know 90% of the wasteful crap their subsidy money goes to.
