You have to click on the linked Sunday Times article, which you can’t read unless you are a Sunday Times subscriber, so no fucking clue. Maybe try a pop culture and entertainment news site that isn’t turning into absolute garbage.

Why is everyone proud not to know dril? There are sometimes things I don’t know, but I at least have the decency to be embarrassed about it, or at least the shame to not pipe up.
The A.V. Club commentariat of yore would have loved dril. Now we get shit like “How can this guy be iconic when I haven’t heard of him?” I blame Kinja.
I’m glad someone else appreciates Dril! the comment section is grumbly lately and not even in a fun ironic way (or a sad way.) Just an old-man-yells-at-cloud way, to use the site’s parlance.
This pattern pops up all the time on any music post in the kinjaverse. It’s like ‘cool?’ I know the name of like 3 sportsballers so when there’s a name in the news I don’t recognize I assume it’s an athlete and keep it moving. Somehow with music/internet you gotta yell about your ignorance.
lol all the comments saying they don’t know who dril is. like that makes you cool.
if the internet doxxes dril i will face god and walk backward into hell
It isn’t meant as an apology because he is saying he doesn’t remember acting that way. Also, why would noting the Rashomon Effect be racist? Are white people not supposed to mention ideas developed by Asian people even if that theory is 100% what he is claiming happened?
He’s like the Kinja of presidents: Ugly by design, never wants to work and is preoccupied with making everything a white space.
I think it’s partly the change from text to outline as source material and partly that the show is dealing with the effects of previous adaptive choices, which is something Martin himself called out years ago, when discussing the possibility that the show might spoil the books, referring to the butterfly effect of…
My big question (to which I doubt we’ll ever have an answer) is: how much of this season was GRRM, and how much of it was the showrunners? I had thought, going in, that Martin’s share was going to be at least 50%, maybe as much as 75%, but, having watched it, I think it was more like 25%. I think he had a few major…
Good lord. Where am I telling you how to do your job? And why would I know what 90 percent of your interactions are? I mean that’s shitty for you and is too bad if it’s something you have to deal with daily, but that doesn’t have anything to do with a good faith question. Man, hope the rest of your day goes better, I…
wow, Is that directed at me? Kinda at a loss on how mentioning one thing I was curious by (one I’m not even sure I disagree with) is as confrontational and insulting as you’re implying. I would think that something you wrote would be up for, y’know, discussion on a comments section. Good to know that any gentle…
I think the point he soured for me was The Golden Globes.
Yeah I got like an hour in and hadn't laughed once so gave up. The jokes seemed quite obvious and the parody just didn't grab me, which is a shame because I really wanted to like it
