Minimum wages are - and should be - regional. Jobs like “McDonald’s worker” or “Walmart cashier” aren’t intended to be “living-wage” jobs. If you don’t think those jobs provide enough money, do more. Get a further education. Work harder than your co-workers and get promoted. Learn a trade.

I used to work for the Gaylord family, who owns (or owned?) the Daily Oklahoman newspaper in Oklahoma City. They also own Opryland. And they produced the movie version of “The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants” way back when.
