This actually isn't an anti-gay law. The Federal government has had basically the same law for over 20 years and 30 other states have it too. Courts in other states with the same RFRA law have held that it doesn't allow businesses to discriminate against gays.

They're not lying. They're just cheap and greedy.

I think there are three criteria for evaluating murderers:

The best murderers are definitely serial killers who never get caught. They have quantity and they get away with it. Those are the 2 criteria.

He's got 3 years left on his contract. He doesn't have much leverage. And the Vikings aren't going to be good either way, so his presence on the field won't make a huge difference, meaning they don't have much incentive to increase his salary to prevent a holdout.

I'm not saying I agree with the system. I'm just explaining why the NBA likes it and is unlikely to change it. Why pay for minor leagues when you can have someone else pay for it?

The NBA has a vested interest in keeping the age limit because it's easier to predict how a player will play in the NBA if they've played in college (even if it's just a year) than if they just played in high school. That means less risk when drafting players who will make millions of dollars. Sure, every year there

I assume that does not include Brees, but who knows.

I agree. I was surprised to see people were upset that they're dropping "Lady." I always thought it was weird and little sexist that they used "Lady" in the first place.

Depending on how far you want to pursue this, most states have laws that allow people to sue if the departments evade their public records requests. If you win, the court usually orders the department to turn over the requested document, attorney's fees, and sometimes even a fine. There are a few states where the

You steal meat? Deadspin needs to pay their writers more.

"Stealing is okay as long as you do it from rich people."

So can't they just recruit athletes and put them on the company pay roll, but their only job is to play football?

My condolences to Brandon Marshall.

This is really more of a policy argument of why state legislatures should make gay marriage legal if they have the option to do so rather than a constitutional argument of why the Supreme Court should say gay marriage MUST be legal. It doesn't really have any bearing on this case. I would be surprised if any of the

I think its basically just an honorary thing for veteran players. The Yankees went 37 years without a captain between Lou Gehrig and Thurmon Munson and then have had stretches of anywhere from 2-7 years without a captain since then. This is not the first time they said they weren't going to have any more captains as a

Franchise tag rules are kind of confusing, but as far as I can tell, no team would ever be dumb enough to keep putting the franchise tag on the same player because the salary escalates really quickly. The second time you do it, you have to give them a 10% raise, which is doable. However, for the third year, you have

He's under contract. His only 2 options are to play for the Vikings or don't play at all and hope the Vikings either cut or trade him. If he refuses to play, the Vikings can suspend him and not pay him. He's 30 years old and has 3 years left on his contract, so theoretically, they can suspend him for the next three

Actually, a lot of times, this sort of public shaming has real world consequences beyond just getting kicked of Twitter. People lose their jobs and often can't find new ones because employers do Google searches. Some of them even receive death threats. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/15/mag…
