I got into FPV drones a bit last year, not to race yet, just to play around.

I’m pretty well used to all of David’s shitty-car shenanigans, so I wasn’t really phased by “the spare spark plug that I always keep in my car” or “always keep a hammer in your car”. That’s just standard David Tracy insanity by this point.

Huh, I had always thought that the movie was based on the game (because of the release dates). I thought it was odd that they’d make a movie out of a not-well-known Game Boy game, but the world is odd in general so I didn’t think too much of it.

It would be nice if they gave it a facelift too, but it’s probably too soon for that (although Mazda does seem to be pretty aggressive with refreshes lately). IMO the front end is little awkward, and as a result the car just looks “good”, not “great”.
