I tried to find it for you, for quite a while I was looking. Basically his drum tech was explaining that Phil didn't really play the drums in that part of his solo career, but everybody loves that fill (collins, lol) so they had this drum set that would come out of the stage, that he would walk over to, sit down, and

Awww, I wish I got this joke/reference. I did click the link.

Fair enough. I do love the manner of TMBG, and appreciate smart guys. I just didn't like that style of music that BT was doing. To me it was like bar band music that 50 yr olds would be playing after getting off work.

I think I was probably faking some of it, but it sounded good!

I always got that impression. Too bad BT was just as flash in the pan as CC. At least Duritz had genuine angst on that first album. I still can't listen to it anymore really because it was the soundtrack to a very difficult time in my life.

I've seen this mentioned at least 5 times now, and I still refuse to subject myself to it to find out why. All it does is just slow me down.

Woah!

Oh yeah I don't even need to click the link. That solo rips. I think someone else mentioned it, or another song from SFT/FWY

♫ I loooooove yoooooooooou. You're the one, the one for meeeeee ♫

I saw another post for that!

I don't remember that Travis song having a drum solo. Maybe it was the extended 12" dance mix?

Really.

Thought that was Orion?

Yes, like he's afraid his little runaway is getting surprise buttsecks.

Nope, not unless she's not singing at the time, I suppose. ;)

There's a Hank Williams Jr song about his dad firing everybody.

I love that guy and wish he wasn't such an asshole. (and I'm not a country fan)

ah yes, "I'm Buddy Rich when I fly off the handle" in Sabotage. I didn't know who that was back when I was still really internalizing their lyrics.

Seriously though, Pull My Strings from Dead Kenndys, while obviously being a parody of a guitar solo, was still a great guitar solo.

I saw the book in a store.

I remember it as though it were a meal ago….
