I think Dune is a pretty cool guy. Eh rides sandwomrs and doesnt afraid of anything.

Love your enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing your memories. :)

"Though they define "artificial intelligence" so broadly that they're nervous about timed sprinkler systems."

Hey, I liked the 'The White Plague'! ….I had forgotten that wasn't Crichton! Certainly a way easier read than Dune. It does a plausible job of explaining how a good man could be turned into a terrorist and mass murderer, with lots of blathering about recombinant DNA thrown in, along with sex slaves and women in

Don't worry, if you get syfy there's always penicillin!

Chaff! I like that!

Yeah who's still talking about Ishtar these days, except in a (different kind of) geeky, jokey way?

Most memorable line from the whole movie, by like 500 miles (♫and 500 more♫)

Thank you. I knew that was lurking in there somewhere.

Neat! Good story. :)

I'd have been happy to stop about halfway through the last one. ;) I still haven't read Wind Through the Keyhole, though I own it on hardback.

Sort of a waste of the subject matter, IMHO. For a guitar to fully encompass the vision of Dune, it would need to be much larger. Maybe on a double neck….

Also, was it overused back in 1965?

Gold, Jerry!

I liked that, you Frank Herberted a pair of perfectly good words that make sense on their own, like "lasgun". ;)

Except for The Gunslinger. You have to read that. The sequels are even better, so don't let the potential duneism get you down.

I applaud your wordsmithing, my seasoned stack of noodles.

and next week, and maybe the week after.

Might makes right!

HBO can swing that.
