@avclub-126ad03316db7675164e3f0c8be270e9:disqus I think the original "oddly" comment was meant chronologically, not thematically. If the main character is elderly, then his childhood hero should have been dead for years, if not decades.

@avclub-b0dae075785888267fc19871f3e7dab7:disqus Me too. I was all, "Wait, what? Was Gandolfini in the director's cut?"

@avclub-560eb60373b30a42bb1d813a47ebae5b:disqus Hey, I'm from Berks County too! But it was the 90s, and by that point, we'd moved on to "Electric Boogie."

The interwebz show me that the tuition for places like Deerfield and Phillips Exeter are roughly $35,000 a year. Even if Chilton's tuition is less than that, it's probably not less than $20,000. I admit to never having asked for a salary advance before, but 20K just doesn't seem practical to me as an amount that could

At the risk of sounding like total dipshit, I always make sure to record the first Life and Death Brigade episdoe whenver it re-airs because I really like Rory's dress.

No, it's means he's the Diva Plavalaguna.

So how would theft work in this setup? The act of theft itself is a crime, but so is possession of stolen goods/property. What, you can steal someone's stuff during the Purge, but you have to give it back the next day?

Sure, medical services may be closed that day, but do they cover what happens to all the people who landed in the ICU the day before the purge? What about the coma patients?

"that's why they renewed Community, which has a small but loyal cult audience to fill that hopeless time slot until BBT shows signs of slowing down."

Parks against Big Bang Theory doesn't seem all that weird to me. Any show that NBC puts there is going to be crushed, so why not use something that already has an audience and is nearing the end of its run anyway?

If that's the way you watch TV, fine. I watch very little live TV myself. But as @avclub-df354df0cd7da4b502560a84162b333d:disqus said, "The vast majority of television is still consumed by people watching live," so it's objectively wrong to say that creating a cohesive schedule is a waste of time, no matter how it may

I think the cast of "Smash" would disagree just a a bit about scheduling not making a difference.

No way, Terra Nova has the "floppiest flop that ever flopped" title locked up nice and tight. It didn't even make it to a second season, critics started out indifferent and then turned toward active loathing, and everyone involved stopped bragging about its bazillion-dollar special effects because it turned out they

There's zero chance that New Girl ends this season. It will run at least four seasons so it'll have enough episodes for syndication. Also, you want Bones to run from 9:30 to 10:30? Why?

I remember that House started in November in its first season. That allowed it to run a large chunk of its season behind the American Idol performance show, since it was in the years before Fox executives collectively inserted their heads into their asses and decided that it was no longer necessary to use Idol to

Absolutely. Refusal to admit defeat, plus denial. This apparent inability to think about life after the singing shows is just them stomping their feet and saying, "Nuh uh, not happening, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!"

I'd be a terrible dom for the same reason.

I don't really understand why Cyrus and James are married. They seem to kinda hate each other. And not in that "stress has taken its toll on our relationship over time" way. I actually find both characters really interesting on their own, but as a couple? No. I feel really bad for their kid.

A scrawny guy straddling a little pony while wearing short-shorts, no less. Is it wrong to instinctively dislike a man who has better legs than I do?

I think this was probably the funniest I've ever found Jeremy (Brit doc). He had a few lines that at least got a smile out of me (including the one about being deported for murder), and that character is really at his best when he and Danny are trying to work together, like the episode with the driver's tests.
