I'm really sad that movie flopped. It's the best romantic comedy I've seen in a long time (and no, that's not the backhanded compliment it sounds like).

What's with all the District 78? There's been at least one song by/remixed by them in almost every episode, and there were three (!) last night.

Man, fuck people who boo. It's bad enough when it happens at public screenings, but at the ones that are filled with supposed adult professional film critics? Childish beyond belief. It would be a lot easier for them and a lot less disruptive for the audience if they just wore T-shirts that read "I Need Attention."

I hope The Sapphires gets a U.S. release. I've heard good things about it, although I'm not surprised that the more unseemly aspects of the story have been handled with an extremely light touch.

Yes, it's opening wide on October 12.

L.A. Confidential and Dead Again are both in my top ten movies of all time. I really don't get why Dead Again isn't considered a new classic. Is it Andy Garcia's old-man makeup?

I'm actually pretty glad that I wasn't old enough to really be paying attention to actors or movies at that point, because I adore both of them, so I'm pretty sure their split would have had a major, detrimental effect on my emotional well-being.

I feel like he's not the hippest choice among cinephiles, but I really do love Joe Wright's work. Even The Soloist turned out to be merely average, rather than the disaster that the previews made it look like.

He's got such an amazing visual sense and manages to apply it in really unexpected ways. I get what Scott

I remember reading a review of The Town, and the critic said he preferred it to Gone Baby Gone, because GBG's ending was bad. That's right, GBG had the bad ending, not The Town, according to this guy.

Me too. I really don't get why that routine is so frequently singled out (in a bad way). I'll take that over one of Mandy's power-balled routines any day.

Ding ding ding, winner. I can forgive a show a lot if I find the characters compelling (note: not the same as "likeable" or "sympathetic"). But these characters are so painfully thin and uninteresting that I have absolutely no rooting interest in the show. Not to mention that none of them (except Elliott and maybe
