We need some sort of regular MST3K feature on the AVClub - seriously, there are enough of us die-hard fans on here to give 'em the pageviews necessary to make it a thing. I know Satellite News does their weekly episode reviews, but the crowd here is a lot more fun. A TV Club Classics section, Box set reviews, whatever

I recall Mike & Joel McHale's riff of "Red Dawn" being a good time.

"Where can I empty my hat?"

FUN FACT: The mailman in This Island Earth is none other than Coleman Francis of Skydivers / Red Zone Cuba / Beats of Yucca Flats "fame"!
LESS-THAN-FUN FACT: Mike & the bots couldn't comment on the mailman being Coleman Francis because the Universal executives thought the reference was "too obscure"!

Agreed, which is why Robot Monster is probably the best season 1 episode - the movie is fun enough on its own to carry the still-shaky riffing from Joel & the bots.

@avclub-39dd889e0ab668280dbd73c93917e652:disqus  - Aside from Battlefield Earth, I'd never recommend any of the other ones you've seen. I agree that they can get that way sometimes (I mean, jesus, they have almost as many riffs as MST3K had episodes at this point! You're gonna have some lousy ones, unfortunately…),

He looks like The Moon in "A Trip to the Moon".

NOOOOO SPRINGS!!

"He's stealing all the Nerf Toast!"

Me & the missus are nearly done working our way through MST3K chronologically &, holy god, yes. Nine times out of ten the films directed OR produced by Corman are colossal drags. I'm someone who really loves some of the most slow, brutal, divisive films that MST3K has done (The Coleman Francis "trilogy", Starfighters,

Someone mentioned it further down, but Moral Orel - "School Pageant" is also an ace pick. That or "Innocence" (which is based around the song from "School Pageant" that got so popular).

Seconded.
"And now I will tell you of my forty days of fasting / Make yourselves at home, this story has a way of lasting"

SCUDWORTH IS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER.

"Love is just an abstract concept! It can't knock down stuff!"

As long as they don't hire Paul Lieberstein as show runner they should be fine.

Directed by Squirm's Don "Wimpy Antiquing Guy" Scardino!

Though I quit the Radiohead fanclub in the past 10 years or so, I do have to say they really know who to go to to master their vinyl. The original pressings of Kid A, Amnesiac & OK Computer all sound fantastic & much better than the CDs I own.

YES. i've seen them 3 times & each time i have been bored out of my mind, which is ridiculous because i fucking love built to spill.

hell, i'd be content if the rest of the workprints for the 3 or 4 season 2 episodes that were in production before the show was officially cancelled were released / leaked.
