A lot of arcade monitors refresh at 25 Hz, this is not scaleable to modern TV refresh rates, at least none currently, so that creates an issue, also the games run at 4:3 resolutions which means black bars or stretched images, also many ran at resolutions that are lower than many modern monitors can display (too low)

The article is old now, but since it says apple must use standard chargers by 2017, so, it seems pretty relevant. It will cost more money to have a different port here than the EU, especially if they cannot justify the port with some amazing features not included in the other standard.
