This is one area that I really really hope Nintendo addresses, and gets right, with their upcoming NX “platform”.

AFAIK, you can play PSOne discs on any PS3. PS2 games are what can only be played on the original “fat” PS3 consoles that they later discontinued.

I think the best analogy is a baseball player forgetting how many outs there are (3 rounds in a match 3 outs in an inning), and walking off a base thinking there are 3 outs and getting tagged out. Its a mental error, and the other team would never (and should never) “be nice” and let them get back to the base.

Man, that boxart is horrid. Especially the typography and layout of the title with that overlapping text...you have to strain your eyes just to read it.

You mean you don’t think it would do too well from a sales/audience perspective? I’d agree with you there, but if you mean gameplay-wise, the newer XCOM games have shown it can work quite well on consoles.

If they take the combat of New Vegas and improved upon it a bit, I think it’ll be fine. NV was definitely much more playable as a straight FPS/action game than FO3 was.

I gotta say, the lighting, colors, and level design look fantastic in this shot. Just wish the quality of the character modeling/animation was even just somewhere close to this. You would’ve thought that its something they would’ve really focused on, with all the negative feedback they’ve no doubt seen on that facet…

Even though I do have a New 3DSXL, I recently picked up a new sealed copy of the Wii version of Xenoblade Chronicles for about $80 on eBay. I had always wanted to play it, but after seeing the initial videos/screenshots of the 3DS version, I had a feeling it wasn’t gonna be the best way to experience the game.

I hope you meant to say XII instead of XI. XI was a rather pedestrian MMO, nothing special, while XII was fantastic IMO.
