Yeah, pretty standard to have only a few sick days a year. You can use your vacation days instead.

I’ve worked in many restaurants. You get tips so you lose that if you aren’t working and the other pay doesn’t matter as it barely covers the taxes.

Well, I can see part-time workers not getting paid sick time but I’ve never worked in the 5 states that actually HAVE paid sick time and I have never experienced a job where being sick was an issue. (I’ve worked in about 12 states).
