You can actually play BF4 without it crashing? I envy you.

So what they're saying, essentially, is that if you focus on something, you have a better chance at remembering it? That's some groundbreaking stuff right there!
Thank you for this. I'm so tired of hearing the "but you can modify the software any way you see fit and freely distribute your modifications" as an "advantage" of open source software.
So expressing my opinion makes me an ass?
How very "open" of Google to force you into using their file formats by limiting available space for non-Google file formats. Do they suck so bad that the mighty G is resorting to what amounts to extortion?
Indeed it does. Bought a license as soon as it first released as a beta :)
^ This. 1,001 times. I found Bartender shortly after it was first available after searching for YEARS for something to do exactly what Bartender does. The guy that produces it is quite nice as well, I spoke with him via email a while back when I had a question. Well worth the license fee :)
Now only if I could figure out how to put the Listacular folder in Dropbox into the "Apps" folder. I thought a while back Dropbox changed the rules so all apps that are linked to dropbox would create a folder under Apps so as to not clutter up your main dropbox folder. Am I crazy?
I find Breevy very disappointing. There's absolutely no support for Rich Text for HTML formatting. I use both heavily in emails (to create "how-to" type instructions with pictures) as an IT professional, so I've started using PhraseExpress. It's free to use, but you have to pay for it for corporate use. I paid for it…
Slow day at Lifehacker? This is just ASKING for trouble! ;)
Nice to see there's still good people in the world...
It won't be a "lowest common denominator" type thing. Each device will connect to the switch at it's maximum speed, assuming there aren't cabling issues preventing the auto-negotiation from working properly. You definitely want a "switch" though, and not a "hub". With a hub, all devices share the total available…
Just for what it's worth, the updates to fix the Weather.app crash and "long reboot issue" that some users have seen have been pushed to Cydia. I just upgraded and Weather.app is working once again.
Not really much of a difference. If you have some info you don't need to encrypt, you should connect per device so the other devices can use maximum speed, but know that most providers limit you to one connection at a time. If you have 2-3 devices, you may be running afoul of your terms of use.
That sounds about right. Your limited by the speed at which your VPN provider can encrypt and decrypt your traffic and forward it along onto the public internet. It all depends on the provider, the quality of their equipment and internet connections, as well as the connection all the way from your cable modem to their…
If it's a thermal issue, you'll very likely find an event in your system's BIOS event log. It's location varies from system to system, but just boot into BIOS and look around for "Event Log", "System Log", or (in some cases like the newer Dell laptops where it's got it's own category) "Thermal Event Log".
In the case that you're not just trying to be a smart-ass troll with a political opinion on a site having nothing to do with politics, the Wall Street Journal has a good place to start:
Didn't you just say you don't need to be a system admin at home too? Sounds awfully system admin-y to me ;)
Being a systems administrator, I've got to say that all of the above seems entirely moot if you keep backups. Your RAID controller or hard drives fail, there's your replication. Granted, restoring to a new array from backup is time consuming—but that's what you keep backups for.
I think you mean the drivers for your high-end Gigabyte motherboard are not fully compatible with Windows 8, not the other way around ;)
