Oh joy, we are back to the “everyone is a superhero” phase of the show.

That would be one hell of a coincidence, because the CW’s been doing this for years to save money on talent. They get slightly larger casts, but with more “special appearances” or recurrings or whatever else is cheaper than a full-on lead/support.
>After Nia’s random absence last week, Kelly is nowhere to be seen tonight. I’m assuming there’s a budgetary reason why the show’s massive ensemble are seldom all in the same episode together.
Well, speaking for myself, if Brainy’s going to make what are, to him, thousand-year-old pop culture references (I know I’m always making 11th century jokes myself ...), I can feel free to wonder why he hasn’t mentioned “Jaws” or Fonzie, because if the show hasn’t jumped the shark yet, I can see the fins.
Why was this episode like 4 minutes shorter than usual, I watched in on Global / On Demand and the running time (without credits ends at about 38 minutes). did CW cram in an extra promos or something?
Yep, Kara’s reaction to her dad is the most puzzling thing about this and just does not work. Like zero tears or hugs or anything? I do not know what it is about this show that causes it. It is not “pandemic” either because when they introduced her mom in season 3 it was also very weird and cold and the reviews here…
Yes, that was the other thing that got the stink eye from me. For one thing, couldn’t Alex have just grabbed Kara’s toothbrush or something from home or do Kryptonians only leave DNA behind in fancy space tapes?
This show runs on BS and normally that doesn’t bother me too much, but correct me if I'm wrong, M’Gann’s two soul pieces (the one in her and the one in the chrysalis) repel each other like magnets to the point that she nearly becomes soulless when she’s approaching the chrysalis (because the part of her soul in her…
Love the continuity! Mention of not only Red Tornado but also the period afterwards when Kara's powers were depleted.
The fight editing felt a bit rushed - I am wondering if limitations on production issues are affecting pacing.
When Kara picked up that mace and Nyxly said that Kara couldn't hurt her with it, I thought, "You really don't know anything about Kara at all, do you?" because obviously Kara was going to smash the mirror.
Agreed on Alex snatching the gizmo from Lena instead of persuading her. As I’ve already posted, it seems like either she hasn’t learned anything at all from Kara or it’s just an example of bad writing.
My usual random thoughts:
Thank goodness those bangs are gone.
The thing that’s bothering me about the writing is, there are so many false start emotional conflicts that seem to be there just to pad the episode. Like the drama about “oh no I can’t use the Kara hologram because then you wouldn’t have it any longer” ... did anyone see that as an objection any intelligent person…
Even with the intro, this was still one short episode. It clocked in at just over 38 minutes when other episodes will run 41-42 minutes. If you take out the intro, it was around 37 minutes. I wonder if it was a budget issue or they just didn’t have enough material.
With Brainy here and Chester on The Flash always on, it’s nice to finally see someone unmoved by nonstop pop culture references. It’s getting to a point where I want someone to deliver a Larry David-style “Shut the fuck up.”
I'm so glad someone else sees that scene the way I do. Alex just can't say she trusts Lena then rip the device from her hands without giving her a chance to come to alex's way of thinking.
Nyx sure turned fast. If only she hadn’t let her daddy issues get the better of her, she could have been on Earth causing havoc.
For now, I’m giving Supergirl the benefit of the doubt and leaving the whole Fort Rozz self-destruct cliffhanger in the “wait and see” box.
