OT: Jose Molina and Joss Whedon worked together??

I thought Reed’s catchphrase was “Oh, damn it, Reed! Ya done goofed it again!”

Half of what Aquaman said in Justice League was hilarious. Also, the Lasso of Truth scene. I don’t think one catchphrase would have made Cyborg the comic relief.

Does this mean Ray won’t return for Justice League: Apokolips?

If he was comic relief,  what was the Flash??

I seem to remember Aquaman saying "My man!" in all the JL trailers. Idk if that qualifies as a catchphrase but it was very, very douchey.

Yeah there’s reason there for being uncomfortable with a catchphrase and even with that particular catchphrase given that Fisher was already concerned about the first portrayal of a black DC superhero. That’s valid,

He felt that he was being pressured into being the comic relief because executives thought his character was too angry.

I think his issue appears to be that he felt they were pressuring him to be the comic relief.

Now playing

It’s a reference to the It’s Always Sunny episode “CharDeeMacDennis: The Game of Games”.

Why can’t Sue’s catchphrase be “oh, Namor!” ?

It was actually a lot more detailed and expansive than that. Per Jezebel:

Sue’s catchphrase is “Reed, darling,” and Reed’s is “Sue, dear.”

I... actually don’t? It’d be like half the cast of a Fantastic Four movie getting mad that they’re expected to say “Flame on!” and “It’s clobbering time!” but Reed and Sue have no equivalents.

I am actually a little shocked they haven’t had Diana say “Great Hera!” in any of the films.

Whedon is asshole, why Cyborg hate?

Well, it was an Empire, after all. Roman only in name. We might well imagine Sokovia was part of it in the MCU Earth (where some real country or other must surrender some territory to make room for it).

To be honest...I did not expect this show to have such a nuanced portrayal of Black life! Thank you for this feedback, I’d be open to more.

I don’t think the Red Skull type serum Green Goblin power anger gas personality hand waving can explain Karli’s actions if the guy with her, presumably another serum recipient, was giving her big WTF energy. She’s what Wanda and Pietro would’ve been if they were on board with terrorism.

I honestly almost threw my screen on the wall when Karli blew up that building, especially afterr the episode spent so much resources on showing her side. Of course it didn’t help that at no point could I understand why that UN organization was holding back supplies, but that is another thing altogether.
