Hope it all works out for you. We loved the car in the 2 years that we had it since new, but the two DSG issues put left us with a sour feeling. It was a fun car, that’s for sure. Staying away from the first model year run of any manufacturer from now on.

We had a 2010 S4 with similar problems, the mechatronic unit was fixed under warranty TWICE. In the end we decided to sell the car at 40K miles, and were done with Audi at that point. Blame it on the first MY of a new platform, but i hear the B8.5s have the DSG issues all worked out.

That’s total BS, I’d find a new dealer. What MY is your car and do you still have warranty on it? The mechatronic unit could be the culprit, if you’re car is tuned I hope it wasn’t flagged for TD1 bc they will straight blame all troubles on that, and be completely off the hook to fix it.

To be fair this is a known problem for B8 S4s and they have software updates for all models that somewhat fixed the harsh 1-2 shifting of the DSGs. What year is your car? The early ones 2010 and even some 2011s are notorious for this clunking gear change issue.. It could also be your mechatronic unit is on its way…
