It’s the only argument they have. They don’t have facts or the law on their side and argue with emotion anyway. All that’s left is to call names and threaten (then commit) violence. 

It can’t ever be that simple. People seem to have a need to control what others think, feel, and do about every single aspect of their lives. They can’t trust the individual to make the decision for themselves or they’ve lost the fight to insert themselves into every conversation.
