I love how people still give Newhart credit for the phone gag, when he stole it lock, stock and barrel from Shelley Berman, who had a gold record and won a Grammy with it in 1959. It’s not like Berman was an unknown, but Newhart completely buried his career. Berman was bitter about until the day he died.

I wouldn’t say Larson should have been fined for making a joke about his own ethnicity, but he did deserve to be fired for dropping the N Bomb (and he was). The difference to me is the meanness of the meme that Gragson liked. Larson is one of those athletes that grew up on video games and his sport and no outside

It’s been making me re-login separately to every Kinja site every day for a year or more now.

I honestly can’t remember the last straight comedy I watched in the the theater, but it was well before the existence of the MCU, probably 20 years or more. Comedies were already dying long before Ironman, and not just in the theater, the only comedy TV show I’ve watched since the demise of Pushing Daisies was How I

Since I don’t play those games, I’m just wondering: What is it they are doing that is cheating? The article doesn’t really say, as far as I can tell.

Whedon was the only one of those three that saddened/surprised me. Ellen’s love of pranks and scaring people was always a red flag to me.

Color me unsurprised. I’ve always assumed that someone who is such a narcissistic exhibitionist was probably a huge asshole. People were so loving her her whole “Say it loud, I’m fat and I’m proud” attitude that they ignored all the red flags like setting her bare ass down on the seat at a Laker game after twerking at

Right, right, I forgot about the Lou Diamond Phillips movie. That was good.

Let’s also say that you can tell when Anne started helping Tony as an uncredited co-writer late in his life. Hint: it coincides with the introduction of Manuelito. That’s Anne’s character, I would bet a not insignificant sum of money on that.

I enjoyed the first season, but I had to get used to the massive changes in the characters. They basically gave Leaphorn all of Chee’s characteristics from the books, plus Leaphorn’s legendary grumpyness. That left them turning Chee into kind of a callow douche. Then, there is adding in Manuelito decades before she

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned this, but this movie owes a LOT to Amadeus. Strauss is Salieri, and Oppenheimer is Mozart, the genius who does not realize or care when he gives great offense to people.

You may be right... but I think they got him for a lot of shit he did in the U.S. also.

Well, if he was in Mexico, there’s not much the Feds can do about it.

He got those back end deals because they weren’t willing to pay him up front because of his drug history. He bet on himself and won. Sandra Bullock did the same thing with Gravity. She took almost nothing up front to help get the film made, and made some 70 million on the back end. I’m sure that there are other actors

I’m probably still shadowbanned here, but here goes: Martina is old enough to have played against Trans tennis player Renee Richards in the 1970's, who in her 40's, an absolutely geriatric age for tennis, made the top 10 in the rankings, something that the greatest women’s player of all time, Serena Williams was

Liberals shrugging our shoulders because we know that a certain crowd always shows up for these movies. There’s been a long history of right wing pastors pumping up these movies to their gullible congregations and getting them to show up in the top 10 for a week or two. It’s nothing new. Kirk Cameron has been doing it

Yeah, because even a cursory knowledge of how the military works in the US would tell you that it is top-heavy with flag officers in peacetime. You either move up or out. If you are a colonel for 10 years, you are being given a clear message: “You are done here”.

What I want to know, is why is Rhodey still a colonel? There are about 900 people in the military that have at least 1 star, and the president’s closest military advisor doesn’t have one, or probably 2 stars? It makes no goddamn sense.

I wouldn’t pay $1,390, much less $13,900. Just because it’s old doesn’t mean it’s a classic.

I gotta admit I didn’t make it all the way through the first episode. It’s the only Disney/Marvel show I didn’t finish.
