False.

False. The real issue is that firearms did not constitute a majority of Australian homicides.

67%.

Homicide rates don’t work like that, we don’t see a sudden rise in stabbing killings to make up for a sudden shortfall in firearms ones. It’s not a supply and demand situation. The question is what number of homicides in any given country are firearms homicides, as part of an overall homicide rate be it either rising

No, the world needs to hear more from Michael Bennett.

Everyone needs a hobby.

Nice work.

That one is real:

Indeed it would. But I am of the opinion that removing the weapons that serve little to no practical purpose is a good place to start. There are not so many wild hogs in this country as to justify the number of assault rifles owned within it.

I’m fully aware, and indeed, regard this low number as an excellent argument as to why these weapons should be taken out of civilian hands without a licensing system based on requirement as other countries do.

Other countries have boar problems without giving their civilian population access to rifles like the AR 15, especially with that rifles modding ability. Australia only allows those weapons to people who hold a C class license or above, and they are only used for the express purpose of invasive feral hunting.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen this one.

Of course, but in this instance, I prefer to go with knowledge than belief.

You realize that in 1941 the Imperial army had 51 divisions, 40 of which were stationed in China in an attempt to win that war? How were the Japanese supposed to contemplate an invasion of the mainland United States with 10 divisions when their airforce could only get as far as Hawaii before they ran out of the gas

The Menard ‘quote’ is unattributed to any source before the Christian News journal published it in 2002. Find me a historian who sees it anywhere else first.

It wasn’t.

The ‘General’ you’re looking for is Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, the rifle behind every blade of grass quote is attributed to Gordon Prange, and the Japanese army never made plans to invade the Continental United States. I’m deeply curious as to how you believe they would have even thought to do so, given the numbers

I’m not sure that the spikes don’t follow the shootings. Especially given that, for example, 20 people dying in one incident on one day will always trump 200 dying in 150 separate ones as far as media coverage is concerned.

There’s a reason for that.
