You are operating under a common misconception. The images on Google are not sans copyright. You have no right to modify utilise publish and sell them. Google has a specific search function that allows you to see only copyright free images. Ai art creators could have simply done that

An ai art program isn't just scanning a picture its utilising it in its learning algorithm and using elements of it to make new images.
