I agree with your point absolutely, but 10 to 20 hours prep is insane and if you spend that much you are either not spending it on prep but some other project you label prep, or you are doing smth very very wrong

I also, however, think it’s worth able bodied individuals to honestly try to playthrough the difficulty, because (as someone who has not a souls player for a decade), once you break through that first wall, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience. And I’m therefore glad that the game doesn’t have native difficulty…
