That said I've seen him live 6 times and he was still at the mercy of the lesser venues, thats where the ass-kicking helps out.

He also championed HDCD, so he definitely cares about quality.

Every once in a while someone seems to figure out the SNL sound thing. Radiohead comes to mind, but I think most are hostage to the mix.
