Was it holstered? Did he have a license to open carry? Or was he holding it in his hand? There’s a HUGE difference between open carry (legally with a license or illegally without one) and brandishing.

Does it confirm that he more or less just had it on his person or in the car, but not in his hands? Seems like to me, it just means he had one. It doesn’t more or less confirm anything. We’ll know when the video’s released though.

What gun laws would have prevented this shooting? I’m seriously asking... Do you know if the shooter had a criminal record, was known to have mental illness, or presented any outward signs prior to the shooting? If you don’t know any of those questions, how can you know what “sensible” gun law reforms to pass?

My takeaway is that there’s somewhere close to 52,499,100 black people, just last year, that would disagree with you. That’s roughly the number of black people that received citations, warnings, arrested, and/or questioned by cops last year that didn’t end up shot, and were completely safe during police stops.
