Sounds like my Bears. In a way I get it. They were being creative in how they tested them out but I fully agree that the coaching staff made far, far too much out of it and it has now grown to epic proportions. Whoever ends up the starter is going to have quite the spotlight on them. I am hoping they have early

Completely agree.  Sure a helmet manufacturer won’t do that for you or me but for an NFL player?  The fact that he had a full year and did nothing with it makes it hard to side with the guy.  I am assuming he is doing this just to dodge the preseason but if it really is what it’s being portrayed as AB is not worthy of

But she’s rich and successful.  Why should any of this matter for her?

If the Raiders have God reach down and help them win the Super Bowl could you imagine the amount of crow Deadspin will be consuming?  Somewhere a lamb is breaking a seal.

To be fair though helmets are limited in their ability to effect concussions they do work great at their primary purpose of preventing skull fractures and facial injury.  Having helmets be certified and I would argue even having helmets be only so many years old isn’t a bad thing.  Plus the Dude had a year’s warning

I know it will take years but I would love to see the results of studies that look at a wide range of players across a wide range of playing experiences such as high school, college, and the pros.  I played from 8th to 12th and I would be curious how much effect the game has had on me and my teammates and opponents.

Colin Kaepernick again? I fully support his protests and I’ve long wanted athletes to take social stands but when it comes to his employment I think some progressives have overdone it. As a long time football fan I don’t view him as an elite talent. Many NFL teams have legitimate reasons purely from a talent level to

I’ve got one but it’s autographed by Buddy Ryan and he wrote, “Fuck you Ditka.  We won that Super Bowl because of me.”  Sorry buddy.  Not getting rid of that one.

Why not just leave the group rather than post one last comment stating you’re leaving the group and then staying in the group to read any of the group’s remarks about your farewell?

Why hasn’t he just put his old helmet next to the new ones and just shown how limiting the new ones are? I find it hard to believe the new ones block vision as much as he claims so some actual proof would go a long way. I still believe he’ll come back and just used this to skip preseason and practice.  I side with the

Big deal.  I fell down my stairs even though I was going up them and no one is talking about it.

It’s kind of like how Hitler would be kind to dogs.  Evil people are complex and sometimes actually do good things.

Aren’t helmets intended to survive one crash before being replaced?  Wouldn’t players be better off wearing a new helmet more often?  Is it possible he just doesn’t want to practice and will wear the new helmet when games start?  Isn’t there more evidence for Shakespeare being the author than there is against it?  If

I’m glad he didn’t end up in Chicago.  Fry and Pineiro may not be sure things but neither is this guy.  At some point the Bears need to stop talking about this position and start talking about how their defense let the Eagles drive down the field and score and how the offense put up only one TD.  It always amazes me

I struggle to walk in his shoes.  I guess we both do.  Is it mental illness?  Is it a weird attempt for a new contract or to be released?  Is he just trying to avoid the preseason?

As a Bears fan I would just like to take a moment to mention how the Bears defense failed to stop the Eagles and the Bears offense failed to score more than one TD. Cody Parkey saved the Bears defense from looking bad in the playoffs. Nick Foles completed 6 passes, including a 2 yard TD pass on 4th and goal, on a

Didn’t Jesus say in the Bible, “You can sleep when you’re dead.”?  It sounds like something inclusive that he would say.  I think it’s in the back next to, “Rubbing one out is wasteful.” and “Dude, don’t wear that shirt made of wool and leather.”

Possibly. Or possibly your team got crushed because that film breakdown was late and the Head Coach wasn’t given enough time to process it. Those extra few hours could have led to finding a pattern that the #3 team often does that would be their Achilles heel but because you were selfish and chose sleep over your team

At what point does this dead horse just get to rest in peace? Thanks everyone for somehow making the NFL and ownership look good. Some teams did shy away from him but he had options in Baltimore and Seattle that for his own reasons he chose not to pursue. He had the option to backup Wilson and he said no. Baltimore

My wife is a firm believer that you can’t change people but you can change systems.  Though I fully agree there are moments when I wish I knew of a way to change people.  Could you imagine what a gift it would be to be able to talk to him and have him understand how wrong he’s acted and feel remorseful?  Not like in a
