Motorola made that plant before they were sold to China. As soon as Google sold Motorola, that plants days were numbered. Like when Whirlpool sold Hoover to China, you knew that the days of Hoover being made in America was over. They closed that plant as fast as possible, and moved production to China.

Can confirm. My ‘16 Miata has an overall average of 35mpg. You can drive like a little old lady or you can beat the snot out of it, gets about the same numbers either way.

Yeah, trying not to hit a deer is usually what immediately precedes hitting a deer. TBF, it is more the deer chooses to hit you.

New BRZ/GR86 are geared really deep which hurts mpg, but holy crap it makes them fun to drive.

I could drive my Miata RF as obnoxiously as I wanted and still get 30ish.  We took it on a long road trip in the summer.  Tons of top down time and tons of AC blasting.  We got high 30s for MPG.  It was nuts.

Its not uncommon for me to get 40 MPG in my Miata.
