You are right, but my issue is price. A Ford F-150 XLT EcoBoost 2.7 4WD starts at $44,920. Options can take that up to the moon. A base Ridgeline isn’t much cheaper. I wouldn’t mind similar fuel mileage if the entry price is tens of thousands cheaper.

No, as long as you have 2.0L and AWD, the FX4 package is optional.

Could we meet halfway and have a SuperCab model?

Hyundai might have made a mistake by not offering the 2+2 with longer bed that the concept car had. There are a lot of comments on here about wanting less interior and more bed on something this small.

Upgrade to the 2.0L and it will force you into AWD.

I agree. Upgrading to get AWD costs $4,390 (the 2.0L is $1,085). Seems like they are trying to profit from the “I have to have AWD” crowd.

$30k is where I ended up on the configurator, which I think is a good price for what is included. A Ranger is going to be at least $8k more.

The Bronco Sport starts at $27k, so it’s possible that Hyundai could pull the same trick and try to stay close to Maverick pricing. The problem will be that they can’t compete with fuel economy, and I doubt Hyundai would pull out enough content to match the base price.

Hyundai hasn’t announced pricing, and I expect it’s because they were waiting on what Ford had planned. I bet they are scrambling to price the Santa Cruz now, since the Maverick is much cheaper than expected. The Ridgeline is much more expensive, and I think Hyundai was hoping to compete with Honda, not Ford. We’ll

I hope this pushes Hyundai to offer a hybrid Santa Cruz, and I hope potential owners push Ford to offer an AWD Hybrid model. The last thing I want is a FWD truck. Honda stopped offering the FWD model based on sales.

I really don’t like how giant the headlights are in the mock-ups and spy shots, but if this comes available as a hybrid right off the bat, that changes things for me. I was super excited for the Hyundai Santa Cruz, but they don’t offer it in a hybrid (yet).

The “stealership” model has always amazed me and I don’t know why people still put up with it. Imagine going to BestBuy to buy a PlayStation and they said, “The total price doesn’t include the $25 it cost to ship it here, plus $10 for me to run your credit card, $2 for the receipt, and 50 cents for the bag.” People

I like the seats but damn those wheels are tiny and terrible. At least pick a new design instead of painting the LE wheels a new color. Yuck.

There are plenty of FWD EVs to choose from. I’m just not sure why you would want one...

Also, isn’t too big? This car is only slightly smaller than a Santa Fe. Is that a small car these days?

Star because Grom!

Whenever I have a friend or family member that says “the range is terrible” or “why can’t EVs tow very far?” I try to remind them how little energy they are really carrying around. 1 gallon of gasoline has 33.7 kWh of energy (per the EPA website). So if this truck has a 200 kWh battery, that’s the equivalent of 5.9

I think there’s a company called X-Stream that is working on this. There’s an article on InsideEVs.com.

I don’t think you mentioned it, but the stylus uses a AAAA battery (according to their website), so technically it doesn’t need recharged, but it does need a battery.
