I did a quick photoshop with the rear mounted spare tire from the Defender and raised taillights. Looks much less of a minivan from the 80s.

Very quick and dirty photoshop, but you’re welcome - I fixed it.

I do like this and I want more

I like the front. Bold, different, and right.

I’m all for Kia introducing a midsize pickup to the US market. big fan of their design/styling right now. hope they bring back amber outline DRLs from the gen 1 Telluride and current k5. amber lights and pickups go hand in hand. got my fingers crossed for an HEV or PHEV too

Yeah, I assume most buyers will remove that on the same day they bring it home. Negating whatever fuel economy benefit Toyota attempted to achieve with this.

Its actually not an air dam, its a passive snow plow. The ground clearance is atrocious with that thing attached and might be the same as my Hyundai sonata. In all seriousness I expect maybe with all the disappointment in the MPG ratings for the new tundra hybrid, Toyota tried to engineer anything to improve MPGs that

Holy front air dam Batman!

Yup. All I can say is that there were quite a few people saying they expected close to 30 mpg in city or highway before the Tundra hybrid was released only for it to be 24/24 I think. While cool at its given power level it was not transformative in the same way that many were hoping.

While that certainly is possible, I would be very disappointed if the Tacoma matched the MPGs with the previous gen. If we get an increase of 4MPGs for the hybrid Tacoma, that gets it to 24 MPGs combined, matching the Jeep Gladiator 4WD diesel and tying it for best in class MPGs. I don’t think that is out of the

Based on the positioning of the hybrid motor in the lineup I feel there is a strong probability it will offer mpg similar to the base engine and the previous V6 but with more power. Basically the same as the F-150 hybrid and Tundra hybrid. I was really hoping Toyota would help out those of us that want the utility of

Overall I’m very excited for the new Toyota Tacoma.

The Bluetooth speaker seems real gimmicky. As others have stated, the built in battery is going to get cooked on the hot dashboard. Besides the wear, I also expect the tech will become quickly outdated and buggy. People buy Toyotas for their rugged durability and dependability, not for gimmicks like this. I hope

Oh yes, a plastic edged speaker on the plastic dash. This will never rattle.

I hope I’m not the only one little worried about a LiOn battery device sitting in constant sunlight all day...

My prediction:

This seems like one of those things that would look cool in commercials, be popular outside of frat houses, and mostly annoying in every other circumstance. No one else wants to hear your music in public.

I can see their CR rating drop because of stupid BT pairing issues like if the phone is stuck paired to the speaker and won’t connect to the car.

So Rivian creates a Truck that’s faster, quieter, more capable + comfortable yet more efficient, plus it has better tech. Toyota’s response? Slap a $125 JBL speaker slapped in the dashboard!
