The Bluetooth speaker seems real gimmicky. As others have stated, the built in battery is going to get cooked on the hot dashboard. Besides the wear, I also expect the tech will become quickly outdated and buggy. People buy Toyotas for their rugged durability and dependability, not for gimmicks like this. I hope…

All those guys who run around town with a bluetooth speaker in a backpack blaring their Slipknot favs can fuck right off. I’m kinda with you.  Use headphones.

The ratio of people who want to hear your music to the ratio of those that don’t is not favorable for the bluetooth speaker crowd.

My prediction:

This seems like one of those things that would look cool in commercials, be popular outside of frat houses, and mostly annoying in every other circumstance. No one else wants to hear your music in public. 

I can see their CR rating drop because of stupid BT pairing issues like if the phone is stuck paired to the speaker and won’t connect to the car.

So Rivian creates a Truck that’s faster, quieter, more capable + comfortable yet more efficient, plus it has better tech. Toyota’s response? Slap a $125 JBL speaker slapped in the dashboard! 

Gross. Bluetooth speakers are a plague.

these things seriously need a hybrid powertrain.  they need a letter more pep in their step.  and better mileage would be nice.  if they could get to 30mpg it would be even further out front than it already is.
