In his memoir, Phil Lesh claims Healy was fired for intentionally sabotaging Bob Weir's guitar sound in their live shows, but it's the Dead, so who knows what the truth is…

For some reason I have a crystal clear memory of seeing the "Buy this magazine or we'll shoot this dog" cover on a magazine rack in a convenience store when it came out - like folks who remember exactly where they were and what was going on around them when a famous person was shot. I don't even remember if I bought

Well, the Dead do get a mention (in the paragraph about the Internet's impact on bootleggers), but I'm not sure if it's really bootlegging when the band offers a special section in the audience near the sound board specifically for people to tape the shows. I also think Dead tapes tend to be bartered rather than sold

Wasn't there one to try to keep Justin Timberlake out of that, though?

Sorry - best Trivague-o ad.

For a great insight into the Who's chemistry on stage at the height of their power, check out the Live at the Isle of Wight video. The band is set up with Entwhistle on one side of the stage, looking past Keith Moon at Townshend. Moon follows Townshend (he almost never looks at either Entwhistle or Daltrey) and
